![]() ![]() More importantly both the book and the jacket are in very nice condition. For instance, I've seen a fifth printing listed for sale, and there may even be later ones. But it is a 'First Edition' of the S & S Classic Edition which is saying something since there were a number of printings of this Classic Edition. Written in 1999, one year before the original 1961 edition. Attractive hard cover copy of Heller's classic with a dust jacket that emulates that of the first printing. Some type of special issue - not overtly a book club edition with a blindstamp on the rear cloth or statement, but impression lettering on the rear board reads "Distributed by Funk & Wagnalls, Inc." and a statement on the lower corner of the front inside flap reads "Original Edition published at $13.95. 1/3" closed tear in the lower edge of the front cover. 1" long closed tear in the rear edge of the spine about 2/3 of the way down from the head. Dust Jacket has just a trace of rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the very tips of the outside corners. Small Simon & Schuster stamp on the upper edge of the textblock. Book has a slight bumping at the head and tail of the spine and a trace of sun along the extreme upper edges of the boards. Sky blue boards quarterbound in a dark blue cloth backstrip with white lettering on the spine. ![]()
